Shimmergloom II I do believe that Yané of Naboo has already claimed the story on Yané as it is her namesake. Wouldn't be fair to take it away from her, now would it?<EG>

Yes. Page 2 already. Thanks, Sache of Naboo.

So I should assume that you have furst dibs on writing the story about the handmadien Sache....

I have just one question for you, Sache: are you and Yane sisters?

And Shimmergloom gets first dibs on dating Rabe.

No, RO, Yané and I are NOT sisters. We go to college together. We are in the exact same CORE sections for HC, live in the same dorm, etc. We've only actually known each other for a little bit more than a month.

And yes! I claim dibs on the Saché story!

(BTW, can you tell that we co-write posts on the Bal Masqué?)

Ok, I got some more name questions:

What is the name of the actress who plays Rabé? Is it Christina or Cristina?

And what about the name of the actress who plays Eirtaé? In TPM credits, she's listed as Friday 'Liz' Wilson, but according to the IMDb, her name is Liz Wilson. Which one do we use?

I'd go with Friday "Liz" Wilson. I believe I heard somewhere that her middle name is Elizabeth so she sometimes uses the pseudonym of "Liz". As for C(h)ristina, that deserves a little more consideration...

In TPM souvenir magazine, she is listed as Cristina, but I always thought her name was Christina. I used "Cristina" on the website.

Good morning, Fellow RHSocietarians. . .

("Good morning, Gen -- er, Lieutenant!")

QG'sP -- http://www.virtualave.net gives you the choice of either having pop-up adz or embedded ones on each page.
Geocities (bought by Yahoo??! Mergermania hits the Web...) always annoyed me with all those pop-up ads. Felt like I was playing Whack-a-Mole with the mouse. Nevertheless, once their closed, they're gone . . . and Xoom sites minimalize display space with their "header" banner . . .

Ideas on the site URL? I mean, apart from the whatever the host's domain --

royalhandmaidensociety.<whoever>.net?
RHS.<whoever>.com?
handmaidens.<whoever>.org?

Exciting times for the RHS, these . . .

Claiming your Handmaiden: Well, we're gonna hafta learnta share! RO I respect your seniority sir but Sabé is MINE!!! Erm, {ahem}, I mean . . .

. . . as far as HM-fiction goes, we should feel free to offer our own creations, or collaborate . . . yeah I say let's use the Ep. 1 Vis. Dictionary blurbs as a start and launch our own fantas -- ERM, fancies from there, eh. . .

I guess I should have checked this thread last night.

Saché, why so defensive? would you be ashamed of me or something if we were sisters (BTW I would be her older sister, older and wiser)
And RO if she were my sister do you really think I'd acknowledge her on this board, let alone tell her about it and encourage her to join? I've got three older sisters and believe me sisters do not do that. Well, maybe some sisters do but not this sister. Perhaps if any of my sisters were like Saché it might be a different story.Well, anyway, yeah, what Saché said is true: same dorm, same core class, same obsessions in general (Saché: same end, and seem, etc *sorry private joke*)

Well enough of that crap...

I think it's Cristina, does anyone know if that is the POrtuguese spelling?

Shimmergloom(II): believe me even IF Candy is available I do not want to date her so go for it...if you can..um...find her...and she accepts, more power to you. BUT I would like to write her story. That would be fun, and since we know NOTHING about her (accept that she is the youngest)I get to make it all up! This could prove to be very interesting.

I know nothing about getting a URL or anything, whatever anyway what I'm saying is I can't help you....

QG'sP I'll e-mail the list ASAP. I'll get you that other thing (Quest for a pic of Yané) when I, well, finish writing it. I've got a couple things on my *to-do* list before it.

Oh, a question...after the website is up, will we still keep up this thread, at all?

This post was pretty long...

Good afternoon, fellow RHS members....

Hello, Yane. Sorry about the mishap. It just seemed that you two coordinate your posts together so well, I just got the impression that you two might be related in some way. It was just a guess anyway. Forgive me?

Lieutenant Piett: if you have any thoughts as to how Sabe's story should work out, feel free to email me; and I will do the same in return. We can share, hopefully.

tc_master_rank: the thread is still alive today.

Now I hope that I don't jinx it. Please???

Rebel Operative, I'm in a magnanimous mood so all is forgiven. Actually, I was never mad at you. It seemed to me that Saché sounded offended by your initial post, so the real question is whether or not I should be mad at her.

Hey, it's possible Piett, too bad the site did not include any pics...if it is her than her name is spelled Christina not Cristina. How confusing! Oh well, I guess I'll see if I can find a pic of her online...I will be shocked if I do find one of C(h)ristina.

Yané, I will have you know that I was not in the least sense trying to sound defensive. If it so appeared that way to you, then my apologies, but that is not how it was intended to be written. Of course, you know this already, seeing as how we had this discussion already this morning. <BG>

Ok. Here's the weird thing about the Christina Di Silva/Cristina da Silva issue. I have the The Making of Episode 1 book and it specifically uses both spellings.

Speaking of that book, if anyone here has it, if you turn to page 56, in the bottom picture, you can clearly see a non costume run through of the scene where Sabé (who would normally be dressed as the queen during this scene) and company are being escorted down the stairway by the "battle droids" (in this case people.) You can clearly see Kiera Knightly in the front (she's wearing a white t-shirt) And if you look carefully, you can barely see Friday Wilson's head behind her. Unfortunately, it's pretty tiny... but it works....

I did a search on www.freewebspace.net for a host, and I found a few interresting ones.
www.arealcity.com : No ads, 20 MB of web space. There are a few reviews on this host, some people rated it 1 out of 10, and some gave it 10 out of 10. Some reviews say the server is slow, some say it's really fast...
www.atmosphere.be : No ads, unlimited web space, no reviews.
www.crosswinds.net : No ads, unlimited web space. However, most of the reviews gave it 1 or 2 on 10, because it's slow.
www.internations.net : No ads, 20 MB of web space, no reviews.

Red One checking in. Wow, I am out of the loop for three days and they shut down our thread, and to top that off, I have over 50 responses to read through.

I will do everybody a favor and not take the oath again, therby nor embaressing myself again.

And by the way, we all know that I am Eirtaé's most dedicated fan. I am claiming her for my worship. Do I even dare dream of becoming an expert on her?...

Also, Can I vote again for Eirtaé?

I'm nearly finished with the handmaiden's profiles. All I need now is a good pic of Yané to put on her profile. For Saché, I have the Qui-Gon's funeral pic, but I have nothing for Yané, except a few group pics where we don't really see her face, and I'll keep the Candice Orwell picture for Candice's profile.

I'll do the picture galleries, but I could use some help with the main page. Could someone write it? It doesn't need to be very detailled, just something that explain what the site is about, and maybe a bit of history of the RHS, but not too much. The detailled history will be on another page.

Also, we'll need more information on the actresses who play the handmaidens. I have enough on Natalie Portman and Sofia Coppola, but I need some on Friday 'Liz' Wilson, Cristina da Silva, Candice Orwell and Kiera Knightley.

We're still lacking a picture of Cristina da Silva! We could also use another pic of Friday, if it's possible. All the other profiles have two pictures each, except for Cristina's (I have no pic for her profile) and Candice's.

And if someone has any fan art or fan fiction, or ANYTHING related to any handmaiden, I'd take it too.

I'll put all the pages I have for now on my site at Geocities tomorrow morning till we choose a web host, so you can check them out. Now I'm off to bed, it's nearly 11:15 p.m. here.

Wow, that was a long post!

RHS Member Giantano reporting in...unless it's too late. Sorry I've been MIA guys, but I just had one of those weeks. But I'm back. Now we're just missing Hernalt.

So much to catch up on! Everyone has been very busy here. I'll be happy to help with the webpage, but I have zero experience with them. Perhaps I could expand on my previous Handmaiden Dissertation. Maybe a scene by scene location for each of our ladies. Just let me know how I can help.

Also, I was watching one of my old Episode I tapes this weekend. No, not the movie! It has old broadcasts of various entertainment shows. On one of the Access Hollywoods, there's an interview with Nat about her costumes, with a lot of behind the scenes footage. They were showing a costume fitting for Amidala's white Disco Ball Parade dress, when it dawned on me it wasn't Natalie being fitted, but her decoy! Yes indeed, the lovely Kiera Knightly was standing in during a costume fitting. It was neat to see her in some behind the scenes action. The shot only lasted about seven seconds, but I'm 99% sure it's her. I can't believe I never noticed it before. I managed to grab some screen captures, but don't know what to do with them. Any ideas?

Think that's it. I'm off to dreamland. See you all later.

Andé

The General, demoted by technology

Good to see you Red One, RedHot5, and Giantano. Yep; these past few days have been the times that try RHS Members' souls. More or less.

Red One -- to vote for Eirtaé, you must take the Oath again. Kidding. No, really; I was. Stop. Thanx.

Red Hot 5 -- 9 of the 10 original pages are still able to be seen upon the Web
(I hope) -- http://theforce.net/forum/Forum1/HTML/014322-2.html . Peruse at your leisure sir but the harsh lesson after this weekend is: enjoy what you got while it's there.

Qui-Gon's Padawan -- Arggh!! What's your Geocities' site's URL?? (Not in your profile!) Eager I am to see our proto-site!)

It's a given that not much is to be found on Mss. Wilson, Orwell, and esp. da Silva. For all that the web offers on m'Lady Knightley, though (which again, isn't tons)-- heck, let's review:

What I am able to offer now for a Main Page would be very basic by today's standards, very HTML-text-and-image-placement. This may suit our needs for now, but I would like to see something a bit snazzier and contemporary -- lemme see if anyone else wishes to design the Main Page first...?

I would like to be the Historian of the RHS site, now that I think about it. Lemme draft some stuff and send it to you. . .

. . . and not for quite a while have I been so motivated to break out the old Art Pencils and Ink pens and do some Rendering. How 'bout a serialized comic strip of some HM fiction??

Giantano -- your Dissertation and -- how should we say -- TPM HM Sightings Log (!) -- sounds like a great idea for the site.

And as for your behind-the-scenes KK-screen-caps -- OH, lemme see -- would you e-mail them to me A.S.A.P. please!!
Use kpfeiffe@delanet.com as the address...

N.B. re: The Kiera Knightley: Phantom Actress website:

The old url -- http://www.delanet.com/~kpfeiffe/KKPAhome.htm still works; the new one is a "Web Alias" which directs you there:

http://k-knightley.latest-info.com -- and the "-" in "k-knightley" is optional, actually . . .

Ok, I uploaded the pages on my site. You can see them there:
http://www.geocities.com/Hollywood/Interview/4698/Rhs/sabe.html

That's Sabé's profile. I don't have an index for now, so just follow the links on her profile to go to the other handmaidens'. Most of the info in the profiles comes from the Visual Dictionnary and various Amidala websites.

There isn't much stuff for now, only text and pictures. If anyone has an idea for the background, just say it. I didn't know what to put, so I made this one in thirty seconds with Photostyler. It's not really elaborated...

New Christina Da Silva development. Guess who found the e-mail address of a certain college student at the Canterbury Christian College (I think that's it's name) who just so happens to be a media major, work for the campus TV station, be the right age to have played a handmaiden, and who just so happens to be named Christina Da Silva.

It's a long shot, I know, but it wouldn't hurt for me to e-mail her casually and ask, would it? I didn't think so either. If it isn't her then she'll have gotten a good laugh and I'll be really embarrassed. If it is her, then we're definately in luck.

I'm also emailing the Hot Hole about their dance instructor. We'll just have to wait and see.

QG'sP good job on the pages so far!

I haven't seen Hernalt on any of the other threads he frequents, either--could it be (horrors!) that he was a victim of the Great Forum Upheaval, much like Lt.Piett's higher-ranked alter-ego (not to mention our dear, departed threads)?

Btw, I'm envious. All these people are reporting TPM showing up at discount movie theaters in their area, and I live in a stuffy little city which doesn't have a discount theater... I ought to buy a newer car so I could drive to LA to a screening or two or three. (Don't get me wrong, I love my little squareback, but it's older than I am. It's bad enough for the poor dear to climb the hill back home after work every day. )

The former General checks in the barely-furnished RHS Office and is pleased to see others have been in today. He places on his cramped desk in the corner a kitschy but fun little plastic lamp of Sabé in the Battle Dress: . He is pleased to see a note tacked to the well-worn corkboard on the wall from Qui-Gon's Padawan. Excellent! Some wings of the new RHS Meeting Hall were already constructed, on the other side of the galaxy though, in the Geocities system.

Good afternoon, distinguished colleagues!

QG'sP -- great job! Hmmm -- for a background -- how 'bout one of those skyline shots of Theed, tiled if necessary? Now, just let me find you one . . .

(Disclaimer: what follows is the result of graduating as an English major:[/i])
. . . please take no offense: would you mind if I proofread the text? This is a matter of habit for me.

Saché of Naboo -- who knows? Could be. Is that college in the UK, perchance? I've the notion that apart from Sofía, casting for the HM's pooled from the UK only. "HOT Hole"??? Dance instructor?? (!) Maybe it's a good thing Hernalt's not here! He would go into euphoric spasmodics at the thought.

Réka -- Tell you what; I'll see it for you! View it vicariously. And -- do what you must, even if it means driving to L.A., but be forewarned: often great steeds nobly expire in the line of Duty. Not that I wish your car to break down! I lost my faithful Cavalier years ago in service to a midnight craving for egg rolls. Six hours and one towing later, the kicker was: the egg rolls were really mediocre.

**Piett**

P.S. "Alter-ego"? More like altered-ego -- no, my alter-ego is over in the "Bal Masque" . . .

Qui-Gon's Padawan: that's not a bad site at all. I believe that I can help you with building Sabe's background (Lt. Piett can still work together with me if he wants ). I love creative writing, so I believe that I can come up with a story to help you. If you're interested, you can e-mail me; and I can submit you my thoughts on Sabe's background (that goes for Lt. Piett as well).

Yane of Naboo: you forgive me?
I'm so relieved. I hope I don't start a conflict between you and Sache of Naboo. I love having you both in this forum.

Especially in the RHS threads.

Sache of Naboo: Hello again. You have an interesting development there (I'm reffering to your above post).

Lt. Piett: you have a lot of information regarding Sabe. I wonder when you're going to email me so I can give you my thoughts?

Piett why, yes, that college is in the UK. And as for that whole dance instructor thing, there's a place that calls themselves "The Hot Hole" in Leeds, UK and part of what they do is offer Latin dance lessons. A Christina Da Silva, originally from Brazil, is the Ramba instructor. Apparently, the place has yearly events. In '98 they went on a cruise of South America and guess who tagged along and taught dance.

Here's the link: Dancers

QG'sP: it's great to see the pages. I feel bad though that Yané hasn't a picture...The only thing I can think of is that one picture in the VD (the one with Padmé and Rabé) I'm pretty sure that the third HM is Yané. (I can't wait to get the video-hopefully there will be a decent shot of her)

Saché you're really e-mailing that poor girl? Well, if it is her than you'll definitely make your mark on HMology. If it's not, well, you'll give her a good laugh.

RO, Saché and I are still getting along...(for now ) I think we are the two um...most loyal SW fans in our dorm. Saché even printed out one of marcel_proust's pictures and wrote by it "I am a member of..." and posted it beside her door. (admittedly she did it mostly to annoy her roommate but it's still a gesture loyality.)

General Piett, thanks to you, I've hit on how I can contribute to this whole RHMS website thingy: I can proofread! I'm good at it, too! (Although my major was math, not English, so I don't have your excuse for being a nitpicker extraordinaire. Oh, well.)
Seriously, though: my first paid job was copy reading on my college newspaper, so I have experience.

In case you want to take me up on my offer, here's my addy: Palotay@aol.REMOVEME.com. (Obviously, remove the spamblock before sending something, and please don't misuse my address!)

P.S. Altered ego? I like it!

P.P.S. I know you are all convinced it was Natalie as the queen when they are boarding the ship to go back to Naboo, but I'm equally convinced it can't be, it has to be Kiera. Can someone please pay extra special attention to that scene on his or her next viewing (leaving all preconceptions at the door, if possible)?

RO yes, Yané and I are definately 2 of the most loyal gals in our dorm. In fact, Yané not only has that exact same picture on her wall (sadly, someone ripped mine) but she also painted her thumbnails white in homage to Queen Amidala....

Sache of Naboo: someone ripped your picture? A handmadien picture?

You poor thing. I hope marcel_proust doesn't go into shock now (from reading this).

Guess what? I'm planning to buy a scanner. Finally.

And where is Hernalt?

That website was great. I checked out Eirtaé as fast as I could.

I have a question. Which of the queen's outfits did Sabé substitute for?

Also, Which Handmadien is always complaining that it is too cold?

Frosté

How come nobody is laughing?...

Rebel Operative, This is good. Sometimes I get bummed that I can not contribute more to the further uncovering and discovering of the Royal Handmaidens but I do not really do alot on the computer. Oh well.

Ok, Here goes the next one.

Which handmaiden is always tired?

Yané
Red One ducks

<big exagerated sniffles> Yes, RO, it is true. Someone has desecrated my handmaiden picture that I hung with care out in my hall way for all to see. (I have another one in my room, BTW. Roomie hates it. I put up more!) Someone has no respect for the majesties that are the HMs. <Sniff> Luckily, I made copies!

Yané, are you going to allow Red One to desecrate your name like that?!? I am shocked and amazed.

There is no conflict

I was just joking, really.

Here is another one,...

What were the seven handmaidens in the forest called?

Sleepé, Grumpé, Dopé, etc...

(I can not remember them all right now and I do not know why...)
